Management
The Rockhampton Grammar School is one of only eight Grammar Schools in Queensland constituted under the Queensland Grammar Schools Act. The Act stipulates that Grammar Schools be managed by a Board of Trustees who hold office for four year terms. The Board consists of seven members: four are appointed by the Minister of Education and the remaining three elected by school subscribers or donors.
The overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the School, staffing, supervision of its academic programme and student discipline is vested in the Headmaster. He in turn relies on a Leadership Team which includes the Deputy Headmaster, Head of Primary School, Head of Secondary School (Academics) and Head of Secondary School (Students) . The Deputy Headmaster acts in the Headmaster's absence. They are supported by the Board Secretary who is responsible for the administration of the School's business.
