Maths formula succeeds
Rockhampton Grammar Senior School students were successful at the inter-school Maths Team Challenge this school term. In the Year 12 competition RGS Team 1 (Navindu De Silva, Banuka Ralapanawa, Pooja Arumugam, Neeve Saw and Hannah Woods) placed first on 189 points with RGS Team 2 (Callum Lupton, Novoneela Siddiqui, Laura Purvis, Shreejal Poudel and Olivia Germann De-Wet) placing second on 168 points. In the Year 11 competition RGS Team 1 (James Vandeleur, Antonio Vega-Garcia, Will Etherington, Abhinav Singh and Seon Ryan) placed first on 202 points with RGS Team 2 (Olivia Maynard, Jack Moran, Harrison Hooper, James L and Hudson Curtis) placing third on 161 points, just behind Heights College on 163 points. Antonio Vega-Garcia was the overall winner of the shoot-out competition, winning the Rex Boggs Mathlete of the Year medal. Pooja placed third and Navindu fourth. In the mixed teams event, Navindu was a member of the winning team.
