Pros step up performances
Rockhampton Grammar School Dance students, working with a teaching artist from the Queensland Ballet, learned to trust one another as they enhanced a contemporary routine they will perform later in the year. Experts from the Sydney Dance Company also instructed and coached Year 12’s in the School’s studios.
“To work with these amazing dancers from Australia’s leading contemporary dance company was something the students will always remember, especially the chance to learn choreography of such a professional standard,’’ said RGS Head of Dance Mr Michael Robertson.
RGS Dance/Drama students also performed “Razzle Dazzle” in Term 2, portraying their study of musical theatre and investigating the genre’s roots, history and varying styles.
“The quality of work produced reflected not only the talent of the students, but their hard work and dedication throughout the term, combining their knowledge and skills to work together to create some outstanding solo and group pieces,’’ Mr Robertson said.
