Now landing: opportunities

28th Jun 2018

Rockhampton Grammar School students received a defence force careers briefing with a difference last month when the Australian Army aviation corps landed a MRH90 on the School’s Top Oval. The visit was arranged by RGS past student, Major Cameron Porter (RGS 2001), who returned to Central Queensland’s Shoalwater Bay for Exercise Hamel. Major Porter was a boarder in Year 10 when a Blackhawk landed on the School’s grounds. It was flown by another RGS past student, Mark Wheatley (RGS 1976). “It’s great to give back to a School that gave so much to me,’’ Major Porter said.
