RGS farewells Ms Wright
On behalf of the School and the Board of Trustees of RGS, I write to advise you that Ms Denise Wright has announced her resignation from her position as Head of the Senior School at The Rockhampton Grammar School.
Ms Wright has had a remarkable and outstanding career at The Rockhampton Grammar School. Her love and care for students, ready smile, great work ethic and positive attitude will be greatly missed.
Ms Wright has been instrumental in making RGS a leading school in many areas. She has been a great supporter of staff and a powerful advocate for students, and has pursued academic and vocational education opportunities as well as personal and character development for students. Denise has provided great service and generosity to others, in particular in the area of costume and wardrobe for School Musicals over many years. Our School is certainly a much better, richer community from Ms Wright’s involvement and countless hours of service.
The School will now embark upon a process to identify an outstanding educational leader from what we expect will be an exceptional field of candidates. Mrs Alison Wright will continue in the position as Acting Head of the Senior School (a position that she has held this year whilst Ms Wright has been on Long Service Leave) whilst this process takes place.
There will be opportunity to thank and farewell Ms Wright in the near future, and I hope you will join me as we honour and celebrate her wonderful legacy and the end of a very proud era in our history.
Dr Phillip Moulds
